We are delighted that you have chosen one of Obex Dental’s leading practices for your dental care needs and the practice team is committed to always providing you with excellent clinical treatment and patient care throughout your journey. In order for us to maintain this level of service, we do have set terms and conditions for dental appointments which we require all patients to adhere to. These terms vary depending on whether you are an NHS or private patient as detailed below.

Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel an appointment, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice and failure to do this will result in it being recorded as a short notice cancellation. If you carry out 3 short notice cancellations within a 12 month period, then the practice reserves the right to no longer see you for future appointments – exceptional circumstances are at the discretion of the practice management team.

Non-attendance Policy

Should a patient fail to attend an appointment at the booked time on 3 occasions within a 12 month period, without giving any notice of non-attendance, then the practice will not see you for any future appointments – exceptional circumstances are at the discretion of the practice management team.

As an NHS provider, we cannot fine you for non-attendance, so our only option is to refuse further appointments, which is in accordance with the Primary Care Trust guidelines. In the unfortunate event of this happening, you are still entitled to contact an alternative NHS dentist for any future treatment, subject to availability.

Private Patients

Cancellation and non-attendance policies

Private dental appointments are covered by our private practice policies. If you need to cancel an appointment, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice or it will be considered a short notice cancellation for which we reserve the right to charge a £60 cancellation fee – exceptional circumstances are at the discretion of the practice management team.

For private treatment appointments, if a patient fails to attend a booked appointment without prior notification, a non-attendance fee will be applied. This fee will be calculated on the surgery time lost, at a minimum value of £60.
